Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic produced by actinomycete Streptomyces erythreus with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity. Erythromycin exhibits an indirect antineoplastic activity by enhancing the production of IL-4 which augments the tumoricidal activity of macrophages.
