Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory agent and inhibited the constitutive activation of NF-kappaB and IKKalpha in PC-3 and DU-145 cells, and blocked stimulated activation of NF-kappaB in LNCaP cells. Ibuprofen inhibits survival of bladder cancer cells by induced expression of the p75NTR tumor suppressor protein. ibuprofen treatment was effective in attenuating HRHF-induced inflammation and early articular cartilage degeneration.
