Chloropolysporin is produced by the strain of Faenia interjecta SANK 60983. It has strong activity of anti-gram-positive bacteria, including clinically isolated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and enterococcus bacteria. Chloropolysporin B and other glycopeptide antibiotics can also promote the growth of broiler chickens.
